What's wrong with those from germany?
nothing they are very shiny, undented and have a new set of rubber on the keg and a spare set as well
Just thought we should have kept it in the family.
We all paid the NHC tax on ours as well.
I'm sure it won't be too long before you are asked to make a voluntary contribution to the NHC as well? ;)
New thing now, NHC tax. paid in beer? anything for the club: beer, money, I'll give blood if needed. :D
getting NHC tattoo next week.
Is it possible to remove all the black rubber from the top of the keg?
Just thinking about polishing up one or two!
I would definitely the rubber on the bottom however

Yes, it is..
not looky nicey :(
It should be easy enough to polish without removing the rubber? Have you a machine for polishing Will?
but he knows a man who does thanks to Dempsey having said that Wills polishing wrist action is legendary in Malahide :D
Whats that stuff they put on tyres to make them shiney, that should look good.
@Garry: Is Will talking of removing it, polishing and sticking it back on again?
Removing rubber might be easy, but putting it back on?
I'd stick duct tape around rubber edges and then give it a go polishing it.
@Ciderhead: I know nasty enough, but you can always weld a handle on.

I don't know. I assumed that was what he wanted? Will, do you intend to leave the rubber on or off? (Try ignore the innuendo!!!)

In my boy racer days I used to go through tins of silicone spray (http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Autoglym-Silicone-Spray-Shines-Protects-Exterior-Interior-Lubricant-/261202116126?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item3cd0dbfe1e). I'd say it would polish up the rubber on the cornys nicely.
...but it will be a slippery as f**k, and so will your hands.
Trying to stick handsfree kit displays onto car dashboards AFTER the valeters had used a can of the crap.
That stuff was the bane of my life for a while.

Them 3M strips that come with the car kits and reversing sensors wouldn't stick to malt extract so I wouldn't blame the silicone spray. If you want to stick something to the dash use Tec-7. The silicone spray should be dry enough to touch after a few hours. I don't think I would have put up with dust settling on my dash back in the day! How things have changed :o
I carried isopropyl alcohol with me for these cases.
Call-backs to a customer costs you $$$
When the corny thread started there was IIRC a photo of one without the black rubber top just two handles and the posts all polished up.
This is the effect I am looking for I would junk the rubber!
Something like this:
Aren't they the Chinese Cornys?
Personally, I think the grabby bits are useful.
Try lugging them around the place without them...

Hi alealex,
If you're still selling these I'll take 3
Quote from: Il Tubo on August 21, 2013, 09:25:10 PM
Yes, they're Chinese. MB+W sells them aswell, but they're still pricey.
BrenMurph has some, reckons they're not as durable due to thinner steel (iirc).
not so much thinner steel rather,
1
there are no rubber protection so risk bottom gets worn through after months / years where cornys never wear due to 3 inches of runbber protection
2
where the dome top and concave bottom meet the body the welds are not 100% food grade so need caution with sanitation.
pros,
take 5 gallons, seals and ball locks spot on, look good as all stainless, price at 95 euros is reasonable ( cornys couple hunded new)

Not Chinese. Well the newer ones could be but originally the metal handle ones were challenger vi Spartanburger or something to that effect. I had one somewhere. Different posts and poppets but still took a disconnect.

Hey Alex
New to the site so forgive me if this has been covered, I gather from previous comments you will have some more corny kegs available soon? I would definitely be interested in 2 if you have them available? Also if you could send me some info on the kegs; age, condition, with or without rubber protection, cost, location (pick up or delivery)?
Thanks mate,
John
Hi John and welcome to the forum.
They're in good nick, around 12 year old, no dings and definitely zero rust. Good seals, air tight etc. they have rubber bases and crownes. €50 each in Carlow. Will give shout back next weekend. Pick up or can post it. Where are you based?
Sounds all good Alex, I'll certainly take two if there available. I'm based in Kildare myself so postage wont be necessary. Send me an Email or PM when you have details next weekend.
Cheers, John

post up in here
http://www.nationalhomebrewclub.ie/forum/index.php/board,11.0.html
Hey Alex,
Have you many left?
A lad in Midleton asked about kegs last night.
I imagine 2x would do, hopefully he pops up on here.
Thanks
@kaipee: Belfast isn't far but it's expensive to courier to (can check prices if you want)
@johnrm: none left till next week, seems like Midleton is brewers Mecca
working on it...
Alex can I take two off you. I live in dublin but can drive to meet you
Alex I am also interested in two next time you have them.
Just letting all interested parties know that another batch landed. Celli beer taps and co2 regulators are gone till next week. Cheers.
Hey man, still have corneys in stock?
Yeah, have em again + other stuff.
a neighbour asked me to look out for cornys, whats the cost of the cornys and do ya have regs and keg connectors? just wanna get a ballpark figure for him. :)
Kegs are gone now, have reg (35), taps (50), no connectors, and will post here when I have cornys again (55).
Any mixed gas regs Alex?
Yeh, still have one I had here few months ago, bit chunky but proper pub type reg. ODL (manufacturer) of my co2 regulators says thay can be used for both co2 and mixed as they take pressure for up to 300bar. Testing one now, working grand on nitro for the last two months, no issues, but had to get adapter as it has co2 fitting/nut. This costed me few bottles of beer, but guy has no interest making them any cheaper than €50.
Bumping this one if anyone interested in cornys I still have good few + co2 regulators and taps.
Any dual regs that you could connect two kegs to? If so how much?
Shanna
I have them alright. 60 quit, solid stuff.

You can make secondary reg by removing original stem from the regulator and replacing it with barb/jg or what other connection you have on your gas setup.

Few left, how many are you after?
Sorry, I missed the capacity. How large are these?
How many have you left and still €50?
19 litres, €65 each
Weren't they 50 in the first post? For 65 I'll pass.

Price has increased dramatically across the world in the last 12 months, even in the group buy of 56 kegs they cost more than €50 without delivery.
Think it worked out at 55 for me so 65 makes sense in my opinion
65 is an ok price, but I don't have a €130 to spend on kegs. €100 would have been doable, but not €130.
I got two from Alealex in the post yesterday and they're perfect, compared to online prices well worth the €65 but if you've a budget then that's fair enough
Hi. Do you have any cornys left?
Yeh, have few.
Hey alealex, I'd be interested in four if you still have them.
What type of taps do you have, and how much are you looking for them?
Should have four and taps. Celli with compensator/flow control, silver one with short spout, like here:
http://en.celli.com/products/beer-taps_411.html
Welcome to the forum.
Grand job, I'll have 2 taps and 4 kegs. PM me the payments info, I'll be looking for delivery too if that's ok.
Cheers for the welcome to the forum:)
