Title: Malt group buy.
Post by: Eoin on July 01, 2013, 02:10:55 PM
Is anyone considering a malt group buy in the next while?

I'm down to 12KG of pale and that means one more brew.

Just gauging interest presently. I didn't even think of the membership aspect. Feel free to move it tubmeister or administrator.

not sure yet what types, just gauging if there is enough interest to make any order worthwhile. I'll need someone else to help with logistics etc anyway as I've not done this before.

I'm interested.

As this would be my first group buy, what volumes are you talking about ordering?

Thanks

They do not have a bagging line just yet so I'll double check the quantities available.
It may be 25kg sacks or 10-12.5kg sacks so it might be more-or less.

They do the following...
Ale
Lager
Stout
Distilling
Specs here...
http://nationalhomebrewclub.com/forum/index.php/topic,2417.msg29656.html#msg29656

25kg could be 2 x 10kg

Lets see interest...
1) johnrm 25kg Ale

Sure I'm going to be in Dublin a bunch of times in the next few months.
I could bring a car infused with malty goodness on one of those.

MCI is only 10-15 minutes from me so I could collect and store for a while if you want?

1. johnrm 25kg Ale
2. Garry 10kg Ale

MCI bags are approximately 10 Kgs

More-or-less, I qualified that above.

(Total Cost)/(Total weight)*Weight per bag=Cost per bag.
Weight per bag = ~(Qty Ordered)

If need be I can get my biatches to measure to the K.

I was asking the same question after looking at the spec sheets...
I'll quiz MCI on this.
I'm tempted to get some distilling malt to see what it does.

Happy to help on the distribution, mad keen to do more with MCI, but thought we were waiting for new baggin line end of July?
Gary can you look over the fence and see in there are foundations for new shed?

Garry is a proud Dad or soon to be.
Either way, no time to look over fences.
They hit a hurdle with the bagging plant, so smaller and 2 months later...
