Title: Dates for July Brew Day and Homebrew Tasting
Post by: Dr Jacoby on July 05, 2013, 03:01:22 PM
July is pretty busy with beer related events (filling the barrels, the BJCP program, the Mini Maker Faire, and the International Craft Brewers and Distillers Convention etc etc). Maybe we should try to nail down dates and times for the Brew Day and Homebrew Tasting before the spare dates are swallowed up by other stuff?

If we follow the usual pattern the tasting would fall on Tuesday 30th July. Does that suit everybody? What about the Brew Day? Any suggestions?

Hi ya'll

I was only thinking of this the last couple of days. time for the next brew day nearly must be....  :)
The MichAle is going down very well btw, have had some very willing guinea pigs! and carbonation is reaching fairly good levels, don't worry I will keep one or two for Kavanagh's on 30th is it?

Shiny I had a quick look at your wordpress http://ronkbrewing.blogspot.ie very impressive documentation going on there!!

also don't know bout the rest of ye but this Sunday isn't good for me for brewing as am away Wesht! I just checked our last one will have been 4 weeks ago....
Have been thinking of what to brew next maybe a Weissbier, but would need a bit of time to plan recipe and get the ingredients and so on.

That said I do have Marris Otter Pale Malt about 5kg left from the last brew how long would that keep? maybe there's a different variety of beer that would allow me to utilise the materials I already have... maybe just with different hops.... Rossa!!!?  ;D

What ingredients do you have left?

Crushed malt will say fresh for a couple of months, a bit longer if its sealed from the air.

I finally got in touch with Jules and we are on for the brewday this weekend!

We have tried to have it on the second Sunday of the month to try to keep some consistency... I hope to maintain a more consistent announcement schedule going forward!

Tasting will be on the 30th thsi month.

I will open seperate threads for this later!

Shiny... have 5kg Maris Otter pale malt (crushed) and have some crushed Crystal Malt also quantity cannot quite remember not a huge amount. Its the darker ECB or whatever that abrev is 250 anyway as I wanted the amber colour...

The MichAle is doing very well anyway as I said I'll bring some along on the 30th!
Have a great brewday Sunday guys!

Can one of the mods lock this thread please? The tasting thread is now here (http://nationalhomebrewclub.com/forum/index.php/topic,3097.0.html) and the brew day thread is here (http://nationalhomebrewclub.com/forum/index.php/topic,3166.0.html).

I'll transfer the names over.
