Title: Upgrading a SS pot to a full boiler
Post by: Bogwoppit on July 08, 2013, 04:23:54 PM
Hi All,

I have a 50 litre stainless pot that I use on the stove top for boiling.

The problem I have is the other half isn't too keen on having the cooker taken up for a few hours on brew days.

Does anyone have a not too complicated/expensive suggestion to convert it into a self contained boiler.

I have thought about using kettle elements but I am a little worried about earthing the unit, is this a reasonable concern?

Thanks.

You could use it on a burner.
You can also buy kettle elements that are ready to rock.

They used to be available in Shiels electrical in Inchicore.

Fair enough!
I actually meant to say would it be an easy job to earth it correctly?

I'll get a pic up tomorrow but it's just a big pot with a tap.
