Title: Beersmith for Android.
Post by: Eoin on July 11, 2013, 09:19:31 AM
Is anyone else using this steaming pile of dogshit? As you might get from that description it's absolute rubbish.

I can't formulate a new recipe or anything using it, I'd like my money back, total shite, don't waste your money until he fixes it.

Strange, although I don't create recipes from scratch on it, I only edit them.

Email him with all the bugs you are coming across as he is very quick to fix them.

Yeah I think most people are in the same boat, they don't use it for formulation, but I was doing a brew last week and had the phone in the kitchen and thought, what the hell, and installed it. That was a big mistake as it turns out. I don't have the full version on my pc, being Linux on the home pc I tend to use brewtarget and not beersmith. The beersmith I used to use was a naughty version and I don't have it anymore.

I'm planning on making the Beersmith discount (Its limited to a few weeks) active sometime in the late Autumn if you want to upgrade from the demo to the full version.

Well the mobile I'm using is full version, paid for.

I had a version of it in the past but haven't used that in a long time and moved to beertarget due to using Ubuntu on the home pc.

It's all Android or Linux at home apart from this work laptop where I use Windows, and I hardly ever boot this up at home.

Have you tried Linux/Ubuntu Open Beta? It's available on BeerSmith site. Also you can always try to windows ver. with WineHQ.

Not tried it yet, I can have a look, as it stands I'd be happy with a working Android version, no reason it should be so poor, it's unusable for me completely as it stands.

Using beersmith on Ubuntu, and have not problems with it at all , maybe the window resizing but there is an awful lot of information there.

I've used it and was able to formulate a recipe fine. Lite version does not allow building recipes.  It would be better if my inventory was stored in the cloud also, but it does ok for the odd use it gets.
