Title: Grease my Taps up!!
Post by: magnethead on July 22, 2013, 09:51:00 AM
Ok, so my taps stuck fairly hard, and I eventually managed to get them unstuck, so I looked into the proper grease I should use...
There is a lot of debate online about Vasoline, that it kills the head (I think that's people probably using too much of it)

But anyway, by chance I bumped into an old guy who retired from Bass, he used to service all their Taps around the country. Anyway he said the grease they used was Kluber (It would have to be German--Quality and all that)...and if he ran out, he might use a tiny bit of Vasoline, only if he was stuck(boom boom).
Kluber is food grade and designed for Bar taps..only €10
Kluber UH1 64-2403

Anyway, if you need some, this is the place in Finglas http://dicksonbearings.ie/ (http://dicksonbearings.ie/)

No problem John,
THis is Fully synthetic and not petroleum based for those that care  ::)

It was 600 euro for a grease gun refill of food grade "High temp" grease from Kluber (For the wheels on the oven conveyer belt),  apparently it's a great deal, far more expensive to shut down a bread oven  ???

Oh and you ONLY use the bare minimum covering on your taps contact points 'O'Rings', GO real easy with it!! or you will interfer with the beer.....It's got vasoline consistancy so it will stay
