Now got this on. Eddie Hazel was the guitarist in Funkadelic for those who don't know...he played guitar on their best known song 'Maggot Brain'.
If you like Hendrix, you'll like this...bit funkier though and less bluesy
and now thats over its...

Modern contenders would have to be Rodrigo Y Gabriela. I've seen them in Vicar St. deadly.
The Stones rock by the way, best R'n'B outfit of all time, but that's an aside to counter your blasphemy :) Counting them back in you could do a lot worse than a blues session with Ronnie Woods.
Saw R y G busking in town so wouldn't pay to see them after that ;D
@ eoin
never sed the stones was crap...enjoyed seein them in Glastonbury.. they r real die hards how any of them survived past the 70's (health wise) is a mystery... great everlastin music but they are capatilists like bono and anyone who plays to 60,000 and charges 120 a ticket..
there are way better musicians out there that dont have the same level of marketing gurus behind them... that was my point :D and wen u go to a gig u meet and see real people and not on a 75 foot screen from the back of a football stadium
lovely discussion lads... :) :) :) " best show Ive ever seen" popping up a lot...
I have a bit of an issue when bibbly can sell out 5 nights in a row at 90 quid or whatever.....I accept he has great musicians, He can sing, he has great rapport with the crowd....and all that but feck, takin a couple of million home to america its a bit commercial and rip off is it not. went to the Sugar Club and witnessed M ichael Kaeshammer ( for 10 years taught bubbley all he knows) better musicians, better skills, more musical talent, writes and produces all his own music, goes for a few pints with his fans after the gig and plays to 300 people at 30 quid...wats wrong with the world? are we loosin it musically?
Phil lynott & lizzy anyone liked them and saw then in whelans and got rat assed with them later? ( and thats when they were famous)
