Title: Growlers?
Post by: Kieran the Human on July 31, 2013, 10:38:38 AM
Saw a small (I think 1litre) brew dog growler in Bradleys offlicence in cork. Is anyone using growlers? Either for bring home commercial beer from the pub or transporting a few pints from the corny?

I have one of the Brewdog growlers and also a larger 1/2 Gallon one I got in the states last year. There great. Use them to bring beers to our local meet-ups and then the 1/2 Gallon one is good to bring to parties, BBQ's etc.

I think it is more like 1.5l but it does not have any markings on it to confirm.

I also saw these in Bradleys the other day and i agree they look more like 1.5 litre but not sure.

Ok just checked, they are 2.5 pints or 1.4 litres.

does anyone know any pubs that will fill them in Cork?

I asked in the Mad Monk in Midleton and they said they don't.
I must check with the Franciscan Well and Porterhouse - the most likely candidates I'd imagine.

We have a cobbler/trophy engraver in Malahide who can engrave 'owt on a 3d curved surface.
