What do people think? Business cards are supposed to be fairly cheap, and I wouldn't mind contributing directly towards the cost. Dara did some funky Rebel designs in the past, which I think would aptly sum up the spirit of the club. I'd say keep it simple apart from that
Also, what about T-shirts, as my wife is starting to complain that I am wearing the same NHBC one all the time, although I do have it in several colours!
I'd be interested in T-shirts. I can chip in for the business cards too, they won't break the bank.
I could be persuaded. What did the graphics look like?

Graphic was something like this, but probably in black and white, in order to keep the cost down, and JohnRM mentioned it looked a bit too rasta mon!
Yeah, you've twisted my arm.
Ooo like it!
I've a monochrome version of it and the non-rasta version aswell which I'll throw up when I get a chance.
What about beer mats? Who makes them anyway?

I think you might have to go for massive quantities for beer mats, in order to get them printed, so not sure if that would be feasible. I reckon the business cards would be more reasonable to do, and would serve a similar purpose at the end of the day. Re the t-shirts, I think just black and white would look good, but would be nice to get some red in there for Cork as well maybe. I definitely think there's demand
Definitely not Rasta!
I'd be up for a t-shirt.
I like the design for business cards, but in black/white or red/white, and with some sort of contact details or URL

Ha ha, yeah fair enough, we will drop the rasta colours, and if having any colour at all, probably just red.

I'd say we would have the URL linking direct to the Rebel Brewers forum here. We also have a twitter and FB page, but they've hardly every been updated, as I just haven't managed it. I will try better though, at least with notifications of events, and also pictures of meets, as I have quite a few. The twitter page does seem to still pick up quite a few follows, even with the lack of activity.
If anyone else wants access to the twitter or FB pages, let me know?
The url for the Rebel Brewers forum is a bit of a mouthful:
http://nationalhomebrewclub.com/forum/index.php/board,17.0.html
We'll have to wrap it around the shirt like a belt! Make it look like a brew belt!!! Would a QR code look too geeky?
Can a few people update the twitter and facebook or does it have to be only one person? I can give you a hand but I don't have facebook or twitter myself. Does that matter?
any chance we could get a
http://nationalhomebrewclub.com/rebel
url set up? Johnrm?
Do you want that to link to the Rebel board in the forum then?
I guess it's possible, I'll run it by the lads.
Yes John, that would be great if possible.

I don't see why multiple people can't have access, but I do think you might need to be on either twitter or FB on a regular basis to get to grips with it. Let's chat about it at the next meeting.

I'd say Fridays all the way, and definitely the Well. Apart from that, I'm not sure. Maybe setup a poll to see what people prefer?
Friday is good. I'm away so I can't make it until 23 August so I'm a bit biased that way.

Also FestivalGlasses.co.uk does glassware if anyone is interested, MOQ 100.
@Taf, I would be interested in helping update the Facebook page. Probably should stay away from Twitter, though, as I already do Beer Ireland and the business, and that's bad enough as I'll invariably end up accidentally tweeting knitting patterns to the beer account. Doh!
I'm game for some ad-hoc knitting lessons! :D
I would love to be able to make things like that.

I'd say 7.30 to 8 would be a good time to kick off. I'd like to see it on a set basis, such as the first Friday of each month, but we would have to keep in mind any festivals/events going on, and I am just a bit wary that maybe some weeks we wouldn't have the numbers. If a meeting is not going ahead, we would need to cancel it, so they are not holding a table for us. We would also need to okay it with the F Well, and then re-confirm closer to the date. They didn't realise that we were meeting the same night as the Kinsale launch, so that's why they were a bit grumpy with us, when we were trying to move benches. I had said it to one of the lads, but he wasn't working that night, and forgot to mention it to the other staff. Also, there might be occasions when the Lee Valley are having a meetup on the same Friday as they are fairly ad hoc, so we should combine on those occasions, as long as they don't have a problem with that, which I presume they wouldn't.
Who is the best contact in the Well?
I'm happy if the Lee Valley lads are happy too.

I normally say it to Thom, but if he isn't working it's probably Andy. If we are going to have them on a regular basis, we can ask them what is the best way to confirm/cancel. The Well is on Twitter and FB, so probably okay to post there and tag them, on the prior day, and that might work.
It's probably not often that it will clash with Lee Valley, and there's a lot of crossover anyway, plus I did mention it at a Lee Valley meetings before, so shouldn't be a problem, but can double check anyway.

Nice work Dara. I think they all have lovely bottoms but the plain black and white one does it for me.
They are very cool, I'm not from Cork, but I'd buy one, probably the red, but it's hard to decide at the mo!!
I'm easy but B/W is less fussy.
The rising sun red might not be as printable as you think.
Nice one.

I wish! Apparently the Galway hacker space has a programmable electronic knitting machine (like this http://hackaday.com/2010/11/08/make-a-knitting-machine-print-pixel-art/) but alas, I'm not that cool.
I actually much prefer the sunburst logo, though I know printing costs go up as you add colours, so the red one is my second pick.

Just in relation to email, there probably is one, but I doubt it is monitored by the bar staff at the well, and they are the people that need to be advised. I will ask them what their preference is next time I am in.
Just a thought on tshirts - perhaps a single colour print on a red shirt like this one could work.
You would probably still need 2 colours.
Otherwise the Cork bit and the logo might be hard to read.
Unless the entire print was white, i.e. negative the lot.

Run it by him anyway I say. Hopefully Liffey Brewers will get similarly motivated to get out own tees and we could combine orders.
We can get the list going with who wants shirts and we'll see if we get the numbers. The thing about screen printing is you have to make a new photo emulsion screen for each design (and for each colour in a design), so don't think combining orders is possible as each group would need different screens and there is a flat rate for screen setup.
But we can see how many are interested.

Bumping this topic to see if we can sort out some T-shirts.
There's a homebrew shop in the US called Rebel Brewer (http://www.rebelbrewer.com/shop/product-category/rebel-gear/). They've got a few really cool t-shirts for $10 - 12. I don't know about postage though.

Completely missed this thread before - was away. Really like Dara's designs, anyone of them would be good.
I think the white bit in the palm of the hand needs to be changed to an 'outline'.
I am guessing this is still a work in progress as regards design for t-shirt? Taf the google docs link for the t-shirts is not working at the moment. I would be interested in seeing the design if it is finalised and maybe buying a t-shirt too :)
The google docs was mine. It's from last year when I was making some shirts for Beer Ireland. Pay no mind to it now!
I'd suggest contacting Hop Bomb or Colours.ie and get the shirts printed. You'll need to order 20 shirts minimum, but they'll probably cost 6euro each.
Or you can order fewer on http://www.clothes2order.com/ but... it will probably cost the same for 10 shirts from there as 20 from a screen printer.

I'm thinking of this design on a standard black t-shirt. Or polo's are another option.
