Anyone got any vintage beers saved up for a special occasion? Could there be enough knocking about for a tasting evening somewhere?
ive at least 6 r 7 beers from over a year+ ago.........I crack one open open every month or so..... mostly great, some just ok and others didnt survive the year well....over all they are drinkable.
Would be a good workshop to assess ageing and staleing of beer whether its currently good r bad...
I meant commercial beers (homebrews don't last that long in my house ;))
Off the top of my head I've some Westvleteren 8 and 12 (2007), Black Albert, Cuvee Delphine and another Struise beer that I can't remember all from around 2009...Samiclaus from around 2009 as well....Ayinger Celebrator from about 2007...Thomas Hardy from 2003...few more...must dig em out and make a proper list
thats risky. ;D wat if their ruined after waitin all then years :) I'd just drink'm when I gotm
I always have a stock of ageing beers, mainly Belgians and Imperial stouts! I'm quite deciplined with it to my wife's disgust, she'd prefer if the beer bottles on the shelf were consumed...
After the heat we've just had they might just have been aged by an extra 10 years...
I've some goose island ipa in the fridge that has lasted over a week. Record breaker!
Been moving stuff around this morning to make room for the Christmas tree. Found two bottles of Thomas Hardy's ale, from '77 and '81. Have to see later if they're still drinkable ... :D
