Title: Pig on a spit
Post by: Cathal O D on August 10, 2013, 12:08:44 PM
A friend of mine has a pig farm and he had a pig on a spit last night here in Dublin.  He asked me to make some session beer so I made a keg of pale ale to go with it. It was a good night.

In our Malahide Rugby Club the Chef has a hog roaster!

Any one fancy a Hog Roast?

They are seriously scrumtious!

mmmmm... hungry....

That reminds me, the Sextant bar in Cork does a hog-roast on the first friday of every month (fish or pizza other fridays).
Their website has fair warning: "get here early, it only serves 200!"  ;D

I did a lamb in a pit once, people still rave about it 8 years later.

I'd love to do it again, it was great, that said I did have nightmares about food poisoning 60 people and it was stressful but it was good experience.

that looks great. I've never tried a pig on a spit, but we're having one the week after next so I'm hoping it's as nice as it looks :)
