Post by: Thomo on August 16, 2013, 06:35:53 PM
Did my first BIAB today. Only done kits so far. The day went great and my kettle worked well. End up with about 23ltrs after starting with 30ltr. Did a version of the kolsch on beersmith. OG was 1045 which im happy with. Big thanks to Peter (pob) who was there to help.

Bit of a play down there Andy, for a first AG in new equipment I thought it went very well.

Mash spot on, volumes & OG as Beersmith suggested, what more could you want for first try; took me quite a few brews to get it running as smoothly as that (we'll ignore the hop filter for the moment). Also surprisingly little mess aswell.

Well done great start,

Peter

Now you just need to get the brewday calendar planned out - Helles, Alt, Maibock, Oktoberfest, ...
