Title: Interesting brewing facts [Add any you have heard of]
Post by: Shane Phelan on August 21, 2013, 01:31:12 PM
One of the sources for the phrase "rule of thumb" was that a brewer used his thumb to test the temperature of the wort to check if it was cool enough to pitch yeast. There are...um...other sources (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=rule%20of%20thumb) for that phrase too. ::)

I'm curious to hear other peoples morsels of interesting information.
