Let us know what you think lads.
I'm happy with either the 6th or the 13th.
So, should I vote other?
Oops, I forgot! I am going to the Oktoberfest Beag Fri 13th.
So, I am voting for the 6th.
Unfortunately, I won't have any beer to taste or swap. :-[
I have 2 batches brewing at the moment, a ruby red and a Coopers stout,
but they won't be ready to drink by then.
We tossed about the notion of having these regularly on Fridays.
Is the first Friday still good other than this month?

Do we wish to bring the Circus to different Venues?
My 40th in the Well on Sat 7th of December. Booking upstairs, so chalk that one down now. All welcome.

We could do, but not many receptive places have much room for a crowd.
I'll be at the RDS on the 6th, and at Oktoberfest Beag on the 13th also.
Any interest in moving it up to Friday Aug. 30th since September is such a busy month for beer?
All other months look fine, and can't wait for Taf's 21st Birthday! 8)

I'm not sure that the 30th of August is practical as the LVBC has something on that night already. Lets keep an open mind for now.
Re the birthday, I am a bit slow to mature, so maybe 21 isn't that far off the mark! Don't think the beer was great for my 21st, so at least that will be an improvement!

Oktoberfest Beag on the 13th
Do you have info on this?
Where? Links? Etc.
I think it's a marquee outside Beamish & Crawford? A buddy of mine was at it last year. There's some pics of last years one here. (http://www.oktoberfestbeag.ie/)

Went to it when it was up in citylimits, and have watched people coming out of it from the safety of the Oval. Not a fan of it really, as it's basically a massive pissup with very little beer selection, modelled on the munich beer festival. I know some people love it, and I have been know to get pissed on the odd occasion, but not my kind of thing to be honest.
Garry's link is the one.
I think Taf is right, it's just a piss-up.
I am going with the Sports and Social Club in work,
so for me it is a big piss-up with work colleagues.
It will be fun, but not interesting from a beer point of view.

Can I put that in the Calendar? ;)
All Welcome!
Bye bye Sunday 8th :(
Maybe with a bit of...

The general cert in brewing is running in the fran well from the 9th-13th of September so if the meet was the 13th you might get a good crowd or a few new faces - surely people would be staying around having a few drinks after the course
...and that sounds like a better prospect than that Oktoberfest affair.

Having done a couple of those courses everyone seems to leave early on Fridays because they have to drive back to wherever they came from (Thursday is the tasting lesson day and so Thursday evening turns out pretty lively). But Friday could work out if you gave enough notice.
Will have to give the next meet-up a miss. A bit too much going on during September for me.

By the way, for future reference. After the well closes should try BDSM next to vicarstown bar next time. The last night we finished in Vicarstown bar which was grand. But BDSM have Metalman and Trouble's sabotage on tap next door. Was in there last weekend and Metalman was the job. The music may go against Taf's and Mr.Happy's beats but Metalman will make up for it. The two bars are the same owner - you can walk from one to the other which we didn't seem to cop on to the last time.

That place looks seriously cool and I love Metalman - go on, what's the music policy? I'm fairly open minded. :D
any vengaboys?
I'm well known to dance to anything! What is the music like though, rock?
Not sure how you'd classify it -hard rock metal kinda thing. Looks like where all the cool kids go. The two beer gardens are joined which is handy.
Is anyone definitely planning on meeting this Friday the 6th? I get the feeling that there aren't enough people confirmed, so will probably cancel the booking of the cave, as I don't want to reserve space and not use it.
If people do want to meet, even if it is a small number, we can keep the reservation.
I'd be game ball, if there's others interested.
Otherwise I'll just do a brew at home. :D
We'll keep it open for now. There's a very slight chance, I could make it, so you never know.
I won't be able to make this one lads :(
I shouldn't have to make excuses for myself but here it goes: I was out Friday night AND Saturday night. I realised yesterday that I'm too old for that now! To top it off, I forgot my wedding anniversary yesterday too! So I won't be out next weekend and I won't forget my wedding anniversary ever again :P Actually, I probably will forget my wedding anniversary again but I definitely won't be out next weekend.
I can't, sorry, travelling at the weekend.
i won't be there either. SWMBO's birthday.
I'm assuming this isn't happening at this point?
