Title: Definition Of A Moped?
Post by: Greg2013 on August 22, 2013, 02:10:58 PM
Ok what is the definition of a moped, besides a galloping maggot ;D How much does one of them yokes cost to buy say second hand a couple of years old anyway, and where near Dungarvan would i get one? I can drive a moped on my car licence but i let my bike licence lapse over 8 years ago :o

Is that not a Honda 50 you mean John?

A lad I used to know had one as it allowed him to drink 10 pints and drive home without too much worry of Garda detection. However the hedges got the better of him too many times, so eventually he got a Feshty, followed shortly thereafter by a driving ban :)

Honda 50, so good they wrote a song about it!

He has a sleigh already.

Truth be told i got quoted 800-900 euro for a 95 astra in four different places because i have not had insurance in so long(around 5 years) that's why i am looking into the moped as an option. Thing is i had access to a nct 95 astra, i would have to buy a bloody moped :'(

Looks like this is also a non runner idea, a good moped will cost me near 1k, if i had that i could insure the 95 Astra ::)

A moped is good for the Summer.
Think about the Winter, the other 11 months

I drove bikes for a few years the weather does not bother me, tbh i would sooner get up on a bike in the pissing rain than get into a car. I thought i might be able to pick up a moped cheap is all, i still have all the gear for the bikes and it still fits :P

And you have to pay tax and insurance on a moped too. Get an electric bicycle.

New to brew is right, a moped is a motorbike with pedals or a bike with an engine, like this:
Is that what you're after?
If not link a picture of what you think is a moped and I'll tell try find you a few examples of ones that you can ride on a car license.

What have a moped and a fat bird in common?

They're both great fun to ride, but you don't want your mates to see you on one.
