Well folks. i realise this may be off topic for this thread but I've just built an all grain brewing system and I'm looking for some brewing tips from someone who's been doing it for a while. Mainly some pointers on the brewing process, fermentation temps, etc. as well as where to pick up supplies. Happy to show you my new setup if you like... Feel free to mail me if you can help... Thanks...
start a new topic.
surprised you built an all-grain system from the get go as most all grainers here cut their teeth on kits, brew in a bag etc?
Can you post pics?
where are you based, join your local club and participate in brew days?
btw, there is no such thing as a stupid question on here as we are all stupid ;)
@SlippyDog, Yes this post was in the completely wrong thread, sorted now.
My tip: keep a note of everything.
Everybody's kit is different. Maybe you boil off more than the 'typical' 1 gallon/hour, or maybe your mash tun thingy incurs a bigger drop in temp (when I add my grains I get an exactly 7degrees C drop in temp because I mash in my stockpot).
These things all make a difference. Maybe not now, but you'll be glad you took notes in the future.
See what I mean slippy, there's the first one
TT
Good man Slippydog! There are but a few of us real men who started with all grain!
Anything else would be too easy!
There a loads of good "how to brew" stuff of the web. Try youtube too

Was I talking to you and your mate at the Alltech gig?
If not then someone else has done exactly the same - built the AG kit and now doesn't know how to start a brew!
You have come to the right place.
Where are you based? More and more NHC groups are doing brew days and this reall is the place to see the kit in action!
If a picture is worth a thousand words then a live brew day is worth a thousand posts and tens of books
