Bump!

Deadline is extended a bit!

Talking with the main man at the RDS if you can e-mail an entry form ( as stated by say Monday ) that will be grand. The money can be snail-mailed.

If no-one else enters its gonna be Will v. Cider head again!

So come on guys lets put in the last effort!

If anyone has cider ready to enter there may still be time.

E-mail Daniel: PM Will for his email address.

The next major competition will be the NHC comp in March. We have classes for all types of ciders and perries. These are entered in BJCP style categories and judged to BJCP standards.

Mod Edit: removing email address

Well as no-one else is saying owt:

I entered the "Open Cider from Juice CAt." Got A Highly Commended Certificate

Entered the "Open Kit Category" Unfortunatley I was was the only entrant but and I quote "Will, Can you please explain to the judges as to how you got such a good cider from a tin"

I will be stressing to the organisers that it was all a bit "too little to late".

Assume that there will be a Cider Ireland comp next year in Sepember ( not forgetting to brew cider for the NHC comp in March ) and get the fresh juice fermenting now.

As for the kits its up to you.

However if you assume the comp will happen you will have cider to enter.

If it is scratched no problems you have made great cider.

Remember that cider is not like beer: Beers are drunk young, ciders need to age and be blended just like fine sherries and blended malt whiskeys

Well done Will! How many entered?

Was there much of a representation from the NHC there?
I think in the "Open Fresh Juice" category there were 14 entries (tbc) A certain Wickla man we know well had two in, the guy who won the catergory was not a name I knew.

Am waiting for the comment sheets and stats!
