Postpone your trip if you are looking for new tanks they have some dodgy valves in there at the moment which I am resolving with them on Monday refills are a different story

Ok in there today and trying to get a leaky valve sorted, they had a few in all with the same very obious fault around the thread.
I got the last good one  :-[ they will get more in in 2 weeks time.

Thanks for the update. I'll have to head down before then I think cos my regulator is saying refill now.
How obvious is that fault? I've a piece of crap 2kg bottle I got from norm about a year ago that's leaking but I wouldn't know how to tell a good one from a bad one. Would it be worth fixing?

It was Partridges bottle from Norm that took the last one, the valve was so fooked the combined torque of me and the little fella that fills them couldn't crank it open.
Net result Partridge gets his tank back and a new one filled costing €40 snots.

How many kegs have you carbed with the 2Kgs?

@CH 2kg is fallback. It only ever carbed a couple of kegs cos the valve was shite. That was a replacement for my original shite 2kg bottle he sent which ran dry before it carbed a single keg. I subsequently bought a 5kg steel bottle from the now defunct leinster CO2.
Want to get a second 5kg bottle but could live with a fixed 2kg if need be.

@ColinC thanks. I may take you up on that offer if I run out. Might be worth seeing how many beers I get out once regulator hits the red zone.

Guys...I am dangerously low and intend on heading down (probably Friday). If you want a refill or bottle picked up let me know asap.

Was down in Bray today and got my fill. Appears they're sourcing some nice steel bottles for us. Dunno if this is being coordinated by NHC or if it's on their own initiative. Good timing with the keg buy though.
