Title: Leftovers Stout Recipe for comment
Post by: ColMack on September 13, 2013, 03:50:52 PM
Here's the grain bill for a leftovers stout I plan on doing.
I am concerned about over doing the Brown, Chocolate and Roasted Barley.
Will this be ok?  Or likely to be astringent?
A lot of what is on this list is at the end of its shelf life so would like to use it up.
Comments welcome.
Thanks.
  Maris Otter   3.5 kg       64 %
  Munich Malt   500 g       9 %
  Brown Malt   360 g         6 %
  Roasted Barley   310 g   5 %
  Chocolate Malt   250 g    4 %
  Dark Crystal Malt   250 g 4 %
  Torrified Wheat   160 g   2 %
  Oats, Flaked   100 g       1 %

You could probably dial back a little on the roast barley - I rarely use more than 200g

Thanks, that's what I did, reduced it to 200g.
If it turns out crap, I have someone to blame now!!  ;)
