Title: Rental Fruit crushers
Post by: JulesDub on September 15, 2013, 06:53:24 PM
Hello - I've been making cider for a few years now - I own a small ratchet press but up till now I've been making the pomace by hand/spade.
Recently been gifted 150 KG's of apples so I think I will need a fruit/apple crusher this year but I'm not quiet ready to make the investment and buy one - does anybody know of anywhere I could rent one around Dublin or Lenister?

thanks

Something like this is fairly cheap

I used an old garden wood chipper power washed it all first.

Not great for 150kg though.

Sent using a complex system of semaphore and ninjas.

Went through 50 or 60 kgs in about half an hour with the wood chipper

Hoping to get my 7 litre scratter from HBW tomorrow. ( The €180 one )

My 13 ton press build is in progress!

It should handle enough pulp to run about 30 litres ( all in theory as not yet tested )

I live in Malahide PM me and we can chat about this
