I know things were a bit crazy for everyone in September, so we didn't get to meet, so how about Friday 4th of October for the next one?
4th is good for me but I'm flexible.
I'll probably be OK for then.
I haven't been able to brew much lately so I don't know if I'll have anything for sampling. I could buy a pitcher from the bar I suppose?
4th should be good for me.
I have a standard finlandia kit i'd like to get some feedback on.
And also a stout kit done with S23, lagered, dryhopped with saaz, and primed like a lager. It smells like a stout, light and fizzy like a lager, bitter.
I also have a few little bottles of isomerized hop extract (instant bitter) and little hop aroma bottles that i can bring with a syringe. We can water it down with some citric acid and inject it into the soft flesh behind our eyeballs. Or just drop bits into pints if you're interested in checking them out (mr happy was asking about the bittering at some stage)
4th Works for us.
4th October is good for me.
(BTW, Whiskylive in Dublin is on the 5th)
I've confirmed Friday with Tom in the Well. He won't be around himself, but the Cave is booked for us.
I know everyone probably does anyway, but be sure to buy a pint at the bar on the way in.
I've a pale ale to bring, that is not at all hoppy(insert sad face here), but will bring it anyway, and will also syphon off a litre of stout from the barrel, so we can see how that is progressing. I'm hoping it's picked up some wood flavour at this stage, as would be keen to rack it off if possible.
Looking forward to this, bringing a Dunkel Weiss and a pale ale.
Will bring secret beer with some brett in it and either a sour or a dubbel.
I'm looking for some cascade and nugget, 30ish grams of each.
Are there any rebels coming friday who could sort me out? I have fuggles, target, challenger or saaz to swap (all leaf). I can also offer some MCI ale, distiller or lager malt to swap?

I probably have cascade, so will bring some in, but no nugget.
Hi,
I've been quiet lately but have the pass for friday. Have an experimental IPA that I'll bring along.
Garry - can't help. The last of my cascade went into the IPA along with a mishmash of american left over hops I had.

Thanks Taf, what do you want for the swap? Or will I just buy you a pint?

Hi Garry.
I think I have everything I need, so you can buy me a half if you like. Do you only want 30g, as I can probably spare 100g?

You're a gentleman. 30g is loads :)
Just racked off a litre of the barrel stout for tomorrow night, and tastes very good in my opinion. Very smooth for 10%. Will be interested to see what others think. Nice little whisky flavour, and nice bit of roast. No real vanilla from the wood, like the first jameson cask, probably because this beer is much stronger. Can't wait for others to try it.
Nice one. Dying to see what it's like. Whether it's good or bad I think the spirit it was made in (and i'm not talking about the whiskey) will round off any off flavors! Bonus if the stuff tastes good.

It's definitely not bad anyway!
Wow! Where did that crowd come from?!!
Super night, great craic as always.
There's some great beers being made, kit beers that don't taste like kit.
The highlight for me was Daras Pale, I want the recipe!
I think we did damage to Blacks pale at the bar too, a lovely sup.
Are ye hoping to arrange another meeting in November? Unfortunately I missed this meeting as I didn't get notifications of the post. I must try and fix that so that I don't miss any more updates etc.
Not sure yet, still getting over this one!
Lets kick off a new thread...
