Title: November or December Liffey Brewers competition
Post by: delzep on September 28, 2013, 12:08:57 AM
I never looked at the other clubs pages, but I did this evening and saw the Capital Brewers do a really good job on their sub 4% competition. Would anyone be up for a similar competition in November or December but maybe with a fully open range of beers and abv? Not sure how this would work as yet, but just throwing it out there

I was thinking of having no restrictionsI apart from limiting the number of entries per person. In saying that I'd say most people will be brewing darker wintery ales at this time of year anyway

hacked a dark ale kit last night with raisins soaked in rum, star anise, plus grains and hops.

I'll contact the capital brewers to get some more details on how their comp went.

Is it worth having the November meet and the December meet a two in one around the first week of December as people are busy after that usually. Gives plenty of time for a good brew or two and to sort out how we'll get everything done on the night

Ok ::)

How did your comp go?

How many judges would we potentially have that could use bjcp scoring?

Anyone else got any thoughts or input as to how this will pan out?

If entries were limited to 2 per person then 3 judges should be fine I'd say (assuming they're all available and willing to do it)

Did the LC give you fridge space last time?
