Hi there
Was wondering if anybody would have a vial or two of Nothingham beer yeast.
Was recommended to use it for a Boddingtons ale clone, see http://www.nationalhomebrewclub.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1357343070/3#3 for details.
Thanks,
Declan
I have a spare vial of wlp028 if thats any use to you?
Hi Tube
Can wait for this as there is no mad rush. It will also give me some time to make my stir plate.

Its no hassle to pop one in the post monday, you'd have it tuesday and it'd only cost a few cents.
You'd just need to do up a starter for it.
Ok if you dont mind that wou k d be great, one condition though you pm me your paypal id :)

If yer stuck send me a vial Il mail you back some fresh notty. Im taking my stout off primary tomorrow so will be washing the yeast & will have loads to spare.
Did you get this going in the end with the yeast I sent up?
Hi Hop bomb
Yeast bomb or yeast champagne might be more appropriate!!! I made up the Boddingtons clone recipe last Sunday night. I pitched a starter from the yeast you sent me and I must admit to being a little worried at the time. the starter was very active at first but then seemed to go dormant. The yeast you sent me almost exploded when I opened it and I barely got it over the conical in time. I did a two step starter first in a 500 ml flask and then pitched the 500 ml in to 1500 ml of malt extract. This took around 4 days after which timed I added the 2000 ml starter to my wort. There was a real strong krausen on the beer for two days with a very vigorous fermentation and then the krausen died off and the fermentation slowed right down. The og was approx 1.046 and fg this evening was 1.010. I will check it again tomorrow and if it's the same will bottle it on Sunday.
Thanks for the yeast. I look forward to harvesting it and adding it to.the yeast I have.

Post Man must have ran to your place with it in his pocket haha. Sounds like it did the job anyway.
Hi Hop Bomb,
I could not believe how quickly it fermented with the starter that I made up. The way that this yeast behaved was not like any other yeast that I had used before. It clumped up in the bottom of the starter so I was failrly apprehensive about using. However it smelt really fruity and the gravity had dropped as expected so I went ahead with it. Too early to say how the beer will turn out as it will need another few weeks yet. I will keep you posted about how it turned out.
Thanks,
Shanna
