Title: Anyone got a Pilsner Urquell recipe they swear by?
Post by: admin on July 25, 2012, 10:00:30 PM
Brewing a lot of lagers lately and while I'm trying to appeal to the mass market they're just a wee bit too bland. PU is probably one of only a few lagers that I've had that I've really liked.

(I actually like Tsing Tao and Peroni Nastro Azzuro too)

I'd say the trick with the pilsner urquell is to get the yeast right - its not a typical lager yeast - it gets quite a dry malty finish -
WLP800 might be worth a shot !

Just wondering if you tried brewing the above recipes and how it turned out..?  I would love a really good pils recipe.. Budwar being my favourite.
