I emailed these guys yesterday and asked them to add Ireland as a ship to country. They seem to have almost any variety you might want in varying quantities. Shipping shown below. Was going to give them a try, will let you know how I get on. Has any body any experience getting hops from US regarding taxes or duties.

They'll only ship pellets
QuoteNo international Shipping on Leaf (Custom Regulations)
Leaf hops are more bulky, thus the weights have been adjusted to give accurate shipping quotes.
Also, they out of stock on most of the 'interesting' varieties + don't forget about customs ...
Just to update i placed an order on friday 1st of November and it arrived yesterday. The total order weight was 1.5 kg. Hops bought included Ahtanum, NZ Nelson Sauvin, NZ Motueka, Citra Hops 2013 CROP, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook and Columbus. Paid by paypal so total came to €68.23. No sign of any additional charges from customs yet but will update if they arrive. This looks like a good option for getting small amounts of pellet hops which can otherwise be awkward to get or overly expensive here. I priced the same order from other sources and it worked out more expensive and everything i wanted wasn't available in pellet.
Was it only the Citra that was 2013 crop?
Only the citra when i put the order in but they are updating their domestic pellets at the moment. I just put in a small order for a variety to see what they were like to buy from.
They have more 2013 stock up now.
Ordered 3lbs of Centenial, Citra and Cascade all 2013 crop.
Arrived within 2 weeks and still great value for money. I don't want to replace my local supplier but needed something fresh in a hurry.

Customs are busy this time of year and I don't think are arsed as duty is small

Nice ... looks like I'll be gettin some fresh hops soon :)
I wasn't the only one that got some either :)
I actually mailed these this morning about citra & simcoe. Il be ordering most of my hops from this crew as Im moving to pellets. If anyone wants to go splits on shipping on a big box I can get these shipped to a mate & then sent to Ireland.
I got some and NO F*+"*%g customs all pellet
I wouldnt want to chance it on 8 kg of pellets though. Unless they dont mind marking down the value. Then Id have no issues direct shipping them here.

Give me a shout if your putting in an order and ill jump in with you if its ok.
Big volumes/values attract attention I wouldn't risk more that the 3lbs at a time
Freight gets silly as well
If anybody else orders please share your experiences.
Mine was delivered through USPS, and delivered by postman Pat which is the actual name of my postman;)
Have a read of the attached anything over €22 has liability.
http://www.revenue.ie/en/customs/leaflets/postal-guide.pdf
So below 22 you pay nothing
Between 22 and 105 you are only charged the vat plus the AnPost charge.
Over 105 its the works!
Duty on hops is just over 3% from US, I exact number in a another thread.
Picture yourself in An Post bod processing parcels at the moment, this time of year, how many parcels are they going to want to process that are 20-30 euro above the threshold, jan when things are quieter may be a different story.
Placed an order today for some nice hipster hops. Great value. Got 4.5 lb (2 kg) for about € 100 delivered.
Apollo 1lb
Centennial 1lbl
Nelson Sauvin 1lb
Mosaic 1lb
Buzz Bullets 1/2lb (couldn't pass them up with name like that)
Can see some nice beers coming on tap in the next few months.
Nigel do you mind updating us if it arrives without duty?
Not a bother. I placed my order at 2pm today and I get an email at 7 saying my order had been shipped. :)
thinking about grabing some myself. would be fun to play with some of those experimental ones and who does not want buzz bullets
I've mailed them asking if they'll mark down the value on the box. If they will does anyone fancy splitting shipping on a large box? Simcoe is back in two weeks also.
Count me in

What really annoys me is why pay duty and the vat on the postage? >:(
If asking for a write down I would suggest "Post Free" would be an moral option
Follow this part of the thread in the members only section!
Hops arrived. All good. No extra charges. I can see some nice beer betting brewed in the new year :)
F***, purchased some day or two before you and still waiting for them :(
I got mine delivered to my folks house because I'm not home much around this time of year. They tried to deliver yesterday but nobody was home. dropped off today. Don't feel bad Jacob I wont get to brew till the new year. But when I do :)
Don't sweat it mine arrived before others in Dublin, unless you ordered 50lbs they will show up, you didn't order 50lbs did you Jacob!! ???

Did I? :P
Just taking a piss :) But would be nice to get them before xmas. Better to keep them in the freezer then in AnPost warehouse.
Hops arrived. No extra charges. Happy days!!!
I ordered some on 21Jan. Arrived today with €16.86 charge from the customs boys. :(
How much did you order?
3.5lbs with a value of $65
Ouch.
Tell me about it! Couple of varieties I couldn't get here in there though so no other option for getting them.
Is this cos boys are sitting around again?,
please advise how their charge was made up as duty should be just over 3%
Just had some land by Sis, or Donkey Drug Mule as she has started calling herself.
Customs value = 47.23
Vat @ 23% = 10.86
An post fee = 6
Owed = 16.86
Robbery!
What's most annoying is the an post fee which is a significant percentage of the customs cost.
Ouch... That would really piss me off.
That's cos they have contracted out the Valuation Consideration bit to a private company! God bless the free market. ( provided its inside the Euro zone) and ( less than 20e in value) and (a box/letter smaller than x grams) Mr Dempsey has the details!
Was the package in any way "tampered" with?
ie. Had it been opened or had a probe been inserted?
If so then it might have been picked out as a "suspicious green leaf containg package" and subsequently analysed.
In order to pay for the negative investigation they slapped the VAT on.
Just a theorey!
Didn't appear to be but there was quite a strong herbal smell from it.
Maybe then the fee went to pay for the "sniffer dog's food & doggy treats"
According to Section 11. from Revenue Guide to Importing Goods through the Post available HERE (https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&sqi=2&ved=0CEYQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.revenue.ie%2Fen%2Fcustoms%2Fleaflets%2Fpostal-guide.pdf&ei=ExPyUvDOHofY7AatjoGABQ&usg=AFQjCNFPLlk-aIuAU5MGsG96p5v-PC7iGQ&sig2=kHUU71wP2rciOz-xQkozLg&bvm=bv.60799247,d.ZGU&cad=rja)
there should be no VAT on it.
QuoteHowever, there is no relief for importations of tobacco, tobacco products,
alcohol products, perfumes or toilet waters irrespective of their value.
Is it possible that because of the 'herbal smell' that thought that it might be tobacco?
Try to contact them to verify why they charged you.
Quote10. Can I query a customs charge?
Yes. If you have a query on a specific customs charge you should contact Revenue
staff at the postal depot shown on the date stamp area of the Customs Docket with the
precise details of your package i.e. the parcel number, the sender's declaration and the
part of the packaging with your address on it. Alternatively, you can have your parcel
returned to the postal depot for reassessment.
E-mail contact details for the customs parcel depots are as follows:
Portlaoise - parcelpost@revenue.ie
Athlone – athlonepost@revenue.ie
Dublin Mail Centre – dmc@revenue.ie
Also,
Quote16. Can I appeal a decision made by Revenue?
Yes. If you are aggrieved by a decision made by Revenue you should outline the basis
for your appeal in writing enclosing the related documents and forward it to the person
from whom you received the written decision within 30 days of that decision. Any duty
under dispute must normally be paid or secured before the appeal can be processed.
Further information on Appeals is contained in Information Notice C & E No. 5
and/or Information Notice C & E No. 6.
Yep, no customs duties.
