Title: Mixed Gas tank swap
Post by: Mossy on November 02, 2013, 07:37:55 PM
Hi, I have a 20lb mixed gas (nitrogen and CO2) tank. Its full at the moment. I'm looking to swap it for a straight up CO2 tank. Not too worried about the size. Anyone interested?

If Shane doesn't want it I might take it.have a full 5kg bottle of co2 to swap.

Sorry for posting in two separate threads, I just wasn't sure which one it belonged in. I only have the one tank.
Shane, its filled 50/50 at the mo. Physical size is approximately 30' high by 6' across the bottom. What kind of co2 tank have you got?

I was looking for the 75/25 mix myself, but wonder how the 50/50 would work on stout with stout tap.
Anyone got any thoughts on this their's only 25% in the difference.
Think demsey said to me before that he wanted to serve his beer on the 50/50 mix. he may also be interested.

Can you post a pic of a tank if it's still there for swap.

Hi cahalbrua, I think I'm in the same boat as yourself,  I'm also looking for a 75/25% mixed tank. I talked to a guy called barry from the barcompany.ie and he said you can pour ales and stout from a 75/25 mixed tank but you can only pour ale/larger from a 50/50.

So I'm now looking for a 75/25 tank,  He sells them on his site for 95 euro filled and a regulator for 150 euro. Bit pricey but if I can't find a cheaper alternative I'll probably buy from him by the end of the week. anyone any thoughts on this please let me know, I've always bottled my brews up till now and I'm still figuring this out

try Ebay for the regulator, I bought one last week for £40 stg, it was brand new too. There were a few reconditioned ones on there last week as well for around the same price.

Mossy,
I've identical cylinder, very same valve etc, just need to fill it and we can do a swap. Is that ok?

Hi Alealex, its a CO2 tank I'm looking for, I have a CO2 gauge that won't fit it.

Have a co2 cylinder (male thread on the output) more than half full, any good? + some cash your way? or would I just fill the half full cylinder for you? Where do you get refill on this tank, would be handy to know for the future.

Hey Alealex, I'd prefere a full tank for the swap not too sure where people get them filled, I think there might be a place in bray. Does anyone else know of a spot?
What the size on the tank?

I know you we can get co2 in AJ's in Bray, I mean where did you get that 50:50 mix from. The cylinder I have is exactly same as yours just different fitting.

Yeah sorry don't know where to fill it, I got it full from a guy in a bar who thought I could put it to good use. If you have the same tank as me I'd be happy enough to take it half full
