Title: Wine yeasts & yeast nutrients - tried and trusted?
Post by: 1joeoreilly on November 12, 2013, 07:44:25 PM
Hello all,
Does anyone have any reliable yeasts they would recommend for wine brewing?
I haven't brewed in a while and I am trying to find out what works for fellow wine brewers.

I am not looking for freebies, just names of yeasts that have proven reliable so I'm not sold a dud.

Red and White if anyone can shed some light on this.

Thanks a million

Joe.

It really depends what you want to make. EC1118 & KV1—1116 are both pretty good. Champagne or turbo yeasts will get you high alcohol.

Where are you living?

I have loads of wine yeast/nutrient sachets from wine kits that I don't use the yeast from!
