Oud Bruin has won the poll, so we're now looking for contributors. If you want to know what an oud bruin tastes like try Liefmans Goudenband (http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/liefmans-goudenband/4663/) which you can get in the Porterhouse. Super beer. But anyway, if you're in, put your name down. Same deal as before, 20L per person.
Restricted to 20l? I know my system at longer brew lengths and would struggle to scale down.

Nope, not in for this.
If end of Jan chalk me down.. I wouldn't be able to get it brewed if it was any sooner
Chalk me down so.. I'm pretty sure I have most of the grain.. I'll have a look when I get home and should be able to brew over Christmas week.
not goin in cos ive no skills, interest or most of the ingredients, but id love to hook up on some of the brew days, or if anyone has the know-how but not the facility and wants to come down to the Kildare nano brew-cave ur very welcome for a joint effort.
id love to convert but want to see a few brews first :)

Vanderghinste Oud Bruin is an excellent example of what's great in an oud bruin. Little bit acetic so I think the wooden barrel could send ours this direction which would be a fantastic result if it works.
I can do 40 even that is shortening my brew length

Tried a bottle of this..Nice but no real oak flavour imparted that I could detect...Thought Dodges version was better
oud Bruin generally aged in SS. Only tried petrus recently and wasn't overly impressed. Try liefmans gpudenband or Vanderghinste. Top beers!

Have you tried Petrus Aged Pale? It's the dog's.
Haven't had the pleasure.
Is it 10 or 11 cornies we need to fill the barrel guys? We've 9 on the list with Eoin offering to do double batch.
so 11?
Do we have a date for filling the barrel? All ingredients are ready to go now.
Well we just need a fill date since we're brewing it at home. I was hoping to brew mine on 15th.
That sounds fine. My suggestion would be for all the brew and then I collect from a central point to take back and fill the barrel.
We've been waiting a while now so I think the 15 is good for me. I'm away the following week
15th is good for me
Sounds good. Did you treat the barrel yet? The sulphur is nasty. Do it in a well ventilated area.
Here's the byo article we used as reference for barrel maintenance. See the section on used barrel for instructions.
Best kind

Those of you that are attending brew day on the 8th can collect your ingredients there for your Oud Bruin. Otherwise, PM to arrange collection.
I'm gonna rework the recipe for my system this time and I am also going to get my brewlength to 55l or so. I may need a top up on ingredients to make this up, I will let you guys know and see who might have the grist when I get to that stage.
Any objections to me brewing 55l? Judging by where we were at with the lambic it seems like a good idea to me.....
Go for it. If you need extra malts post up here. I'd say we can accommodate it.

Cool, I'll be a bit short on yeast for pitching, is it worth making a starter from one of the bottles provided?
Starter should benefit the yeast mostly so no reason why not.
How are we collecting? Will I drop up to you mark?
Dodge is housing the Oud Bruin barrel down at his place. I'm happy to act as a drop off if it helps.
Collecting ingredients not dropping off brews
Shane has the ingredients.
Grand
I should be down for base malts too.. Pilsner anyway
