Post by: admin on November 26, 2013, 12:46:44 PM
Not sure if I asked this before, but considering going mixed gas.

Is there a cost effective place to get refills?

The only place i can find is the bar company 95 euro for a full 6Kg tank and 40 euro for refills.

You won't find anywhere much cheaper than €40!

BOC have 2 tank sizes a knee height and hip height, I know the hip height on weighs 19kg and serves 40 odd kegs, I am confused about tank here
This is the size of a fire extinguisher ?

From what I remember BOC will rent you a large 19kg tank for 6 a month and 40 refill?

I haven't mine yet it's coming as a Christmas present but I'm assuming its something similar to the Co2 tanks that Tube got from AJ Edge. HopBomb and Barkar got theirs from here as well, see discussion here

Post a pic when you get it as loads looking for mixed gas
I got a large tank swap with a guy that runs a business just the same as your pal in Galway.
It cost 70 and he was straight up with me he said Boc charge him 35 ish plus vat and as long as he has an empty he just keeps swapping and paying the 6/mth rental.
Something to look out for if you buy pub gas claiming to be from Air Products or BOC is that they have a heat shrinked seal around the valve that you have to tear off which confirms tank is full. Some decant from one into the other only really netting you half a tank:(

Somewhere around the M50

^ Lots of pubs have similar systems. You need N2 storage tanks aswell, and of course a supply of CO2.
RTFM:
The BeerBlast also improves employee safety by eliminating the need to handle high-pressure cylinders.

This doesn't look bad - 32.50 a refill and filled to 200 bar, free delivery on orders over 29 euro.

i know the first one would be painful allright but after that it wouldn't be too bad I think, the bar company are charging 95 euro for the tank and 40 euro a refill after.

It looks like you just order it online and they deliver it, I haven't contacted them though.  Mine was ordered last night from the Bar company it will be handy enough for me to pop out to Oranmore and get it refilled.

I'd say it would be their own only, be curious how they facilitate the refill though?

Clearly not a craft drinkers dog as mine brings my beer upright and brings an NHC glass.
