Hi Guys,
Two questions for ye
Did CH big G clone but for whatever reason the result stout, is a bit brown and not as bitter as id like. Can or could you steep some roasted barley and do a hop tea with some hops and add it at this stage (its my mass stout 6wk old). Any advice on this
I have a pale ale that is under hoped too, I have dry hop'ed it today with 75g of Amarillo and Cascade, could I do a tea to this as well to beef it up.
These are my xmass beers so I do what to get the best out of them
Thanks
Covey
Can you post recipie you used?
Half a kilo of 1200 in that recipe how could it be brown?
Did you see the pics for Tubes raffle, that was the stuff in the glass jet black and in the palette with acid malt really brought home bitterness
Try a hop tea alright but leave the colour as is and call it the doirty G.

The acid is there it added a lovely bite to it, but i just wanted a bit more IBUs, dont have the recipe to hand but yeah 500g of 1200, I have to sub 300g of oat flakes and I didn't have enough flaked barley could this have caused it
Did a steeped 30g of crushed roasted barley and 10g of chocolate in 700mls of 70c water, reduced to 500ml, cooled and added it. Then boiled up 10g of bullion hops in about 30ml for 30min. tasted it and it was very very bitter, so added about 5mls to the pot. So if i get away without an infection which i should, i don't think i have ruined it ad it does taste better.
