Title: Wine not clearing
Post by: Stitch on December 05, 2012, 12:58:41 PM
Hope someone may help me here and here. I made a winde using 5 litres of grape juice from Adli or Lidl (can't remember). Anyway I used lavin wine yeast and it became very cloudy (I thought due to the yeast???). Anyway I put the stabiliser in and a campden tablet and thought it should clear. I put it in the fridge about 5 days ago and still no sign of it clearing. Am in being impatient or do I need to through some gelatin in there???

So far it tastes amazing!!!! Hope someone may be able to help (Will????)

Thanks lads.

How long did it ferment for before you stabilised it?

My Lidl/Aldi wines take ages to ferment out. After say about a month I rack them off the sediment (adding nothing) and just pop them away for a couple of months and then they have dropped clear.

Thanks will I knew you would not let me down. Fermented for 2 weeks and checked the gravity was down at 1.000 so probably abit left but don't like them too dry. Right a few months, guess I may just try the fining. This was nothing serious to tell the truth just wanted to give it a try.
