Post by: slick076 on December 14, 2012, 04:06:05 AM
I have just finished my 2nd kit and was going to use 5ltr mini kegs this time instaed of bottles, just not sure how much sugar to use in them & how long to leave?

To generalise half as much as you'd use bottling. I've used more then required and had deformed kegs because of it! They should take roughly the same amount of time to carb as your bottles do!

Sorry to be vague! But that's the way I roll!

Well ... I dont use minikegs anymore - but i treated them the same as bottles.
i.e. I batch primed the beer as normal - same quantities of sugar - and just bottled into the minikegs.

So now!

I use 4 or 5g of table sugar, the odd time 6g.
