Quite interesting. Some of them are brewing by numbers, i.e. the character comes entirely down to the hop variety, and it's really the hop breeders that deserve the credit.
<controversy>Thornbridge Jaipur smacks me of this. Basic enough beer that's all about the flavours created by the hop breeder.</controversy>
But the genius is in how you use them.
Make a canvas for a masterpiece and let the hops shine or use paper and crayons.
You want the best in your beer.
After all is said and done beer is a still 90+% water. Sure is a lot of hassle!
Speaking of Jaipur got the last 2 bottles in the Drink store tonight. For research purposes :P
The problem with the way they scored this is that it gives a definite advantage to beers with a wide distribution. If you haven't drunk a beer, you can't rate it. That advantages big brewers over small brewers.

Lad behind the bar wouldn't sell me a pint. Said it was too expensive to sell in pints. ffs! ::)
Jaipur is €5.20 a bottle off licence :( had to work last night just to help pay for it :P .As regards the list above these are only bar talk opinions and not to be taken seriously. :)
