Title: Best vocalist you've seen live?

I've seen this chap a few times, but his acoustic gig in Newcastle Town Hall was possibly the best live performance I've seen from a solo vocalist. Jack L's "27 club" gig in the Olympia was a close second...

When Cornell did the Bond theme tune, Mario Rosenstock said that he wouldn't listen to people associated with pap rock, and I've dreaded the T.W.A.T. ever since; Cornell is up there with Paul Rodgers et al in my opinion. Best vocal performance for me was Robert Plant with his band The Strange Sensation a few years back in The Olympia; an old man who knew his limits and knew he couldn't hit the 'Dazed and Confused' notes any more, but still put on a brilliant, pitch perfect performance. If I was gay, I'd married the old fogey...

Robert Plant hasn't had a good performance since 1972 (June 1972...those Japan 72 dates prove the downfall  :()
