Hey all

Was wondering if anyone knows a descent source of used beer bottles?

Got a few crates recently I suplimented with bottles from personal consumption but there are 5 AG brews planned this year already (all this month - I can see what little hair I have left disappearing) and one of them a possible 70L batch. So I need to start collecting! :-)

Any help appreciated!

Hi Paddy,

I could throw you 40 to 50 500ml bottles if you like? My garage is coming down with the things but I can't bring myself to recycling them.

I could throw ~50 x 500ml bottles your way if you still need them.

Used I'm not sure, but Makro does big crates of the Grolsch swingtops for a decent price. Two crates of that and you've got carryout sorted for January, plus an ever-increasing supply of 450ml swingtop bottles...

Thanks for the heads up Iain.  Keep meaning to pop into Macro Offlicense but I never get round to it.  Gonna check them out!

I wouldn't want bottles coming out of your ears for my sake mind you...but I need as many as I can get my hands on.

Just back from LY so not sure just yet when I will be heading through again.  It's usually about once every 6 weeks though so likely end of Feb/Start of March.

We will be bottling a big brew around the end of March (looking at 80L)

Have a load stored in my brother's cellar so I'll get up and take a look. We drink Hilden bottles in the pub beside his house so I can start to save them. Plenty of room for storage so there's no issue there.

Have about 100+ bottles sitting ready to go now if any of ye's need them.
