QuoteIt is with great sadness that we have decided to shut the doors of W. J. Kavanagh's for the last time today. This is easily the hardest decision we have ever had to make. We have thoroughly enjoyed the adventure over the last two years and we are incredibly grateful to our customers, suppliers and staff who have whole heartedly supported us throughout.

Really sorry to hear that lads. :(
Very sorry to hear this.
Really sorry to hear that WJ Kavanaghs is gone. Was last there on 28th dec. Wishing all connected with it the best for the future. Dublin and Ireland has lost a very good pub :(

Ah shite :(
Aw man, thats a bummer.
I wish the team luck going forward.
Gutted to hear this!
Wishing all the people involved the best for the future.
Sorry for all the staff. Big thanks to Dec and the lads for making it the home of Capital Brewers over the last year and a bit.
Sorry to hear this. Wish Cara and the lads the best of luck. :(
Very disappointed to see this on Twitter this afternoon. As good as the beer selection was, the food was even better! I don't think any of the other craft chains do food as good as this.
And a great bunch of lads in there. Hope Declan and the rest of the WJK lads get fixed up soon.
:'( one of the best pubs in the country, didn't visit it much but going to miss it. all the best to the crew involved.
Gutted
Even though it was completely out of the way for me - I made an effort to go there - loved the place and their attitude to beer and food.
Its a sad day alright !
Holy Sh*t :(
really sad to see :'(
Where will I go now for wild boar burgers, quirky cask beer, weird and wonderful spirits-in-carboys, and the soundest pub staff in Dublin? Thanks for the good times Cara!
Pleasure was all ours guys. Sad sad house on this end : (
@tube It is for lease but there are rumours that the Tyrone owner of the building will be selling.
The cask engines shall be moved to Mulligans where a complete overhaul of the cellar and bar area will be commencing this week.
Kavanaghs hasn't closed because of a lack of trade etc but because the owners felt they were spreading themselves too thin with Mulligans and the increasingly busy Brown Paper Bag Project. The brewery is only up for sale as it didn't meet our specification and another is currently in the process of being fabricated so expect a lot more from them and LMG in 2014.
Thanks for the support over the last 2 years everyone.
Crap news, was looking forward to having a few there when I'm back down for the comp.
You staying with them Cara?
