Title: Raw Wheat
Post by: richieh on January 29, 2013, 12:10:02 AM
I'd really like to get my hands on a sack of unmalted whole wheat. There is a fair amount of it grown in this country, does anyone have any idea where I can buy some? I want it for wheat styles and maybe some sort of sour beer project. I'm sure it must be possible to pick up a 25KG sack of it somewhere?

It is readily available as an animal feed in the farmers co-ops, but I've been told, grain grown for animal feed will have pesticides and fertilizers used in its production that are not rated for human consumption.

This is what I've used before with no ill effects, but will be looking for an alternative source, pity as I was paying €12 for 40kgs of it  :(
