Title: Newbie here
Post by: fergusm on January 27, 2014, 12:56:07 PM
Hi All,

I'm Fergus from Limerick. No brew's done yet, but looking to get my kit soon and start and learn lots along the way.
When I was younger, my Dad did make Wine, and used to frequent the shop on Thomas St. Hoping to try beer, wine and maybe mead.
Cheers

Welcome, and good luck!

Nothing quite like your first brew.

Welcome Fergus!
What kind of stuff would you like to brew & drink?

Not a huge beer drinker myself, but who knows what might happen after brewing  ;D

Initially going to try wine and maybe mead. Also saw some vodka kits that look interesting.

Welcome aboard  :)

Here's a very simple mead recipe to get you started. The only equipment you need is a 5L water bottle.

Your welcome. Let us know how you get on.

I tried it myself last year. I drank it too quick though, I'm sorry I didn't hold onto a bottle or 2 to test after a year. It wasn't cleared yet when I was drinking it (2 - 3 months old). It's very sweet. A bit like a hot toddy, except cold!
