Title: Local Brewing demos
Post by: johnrm on January 31, 2013, 11:30:41 PM
I am moving from The Sticks to civilisation (Midleton) on Saturday. Yay!

I was thinking of doing a homebrew demo in Midleton at some point...
1. Do a simple kit brew, explaining as I go, pitch yeast but take it home to ferment.
2. Have a few bottles and capper on hand, Hot water/sugar mix in a bottling bucket, add Water(pretend its Wort) cap a few bottles.
3. Crack open a few ready made samples to show what the result is like.
4. Q&A - plus have AG kit on show to demystify that end of things.
5. Plug the club throughout, flyers at the end etc.

that sounds like a great idea  ;D, also as I am a noobie I think it would be good to give a quick intro talk on the types of grains and specialty grains , hops and their impact and also the types of yeast such as dry, white labs etc. but that mite be for inbetween beginners and advanced :P
