Just a reminder that no barrel aged stouts brewed in a group setting will be eligible for the wood aged category in this years competition. In particular the barrel projects at local level.
This is against the rules that are on the competition site and will be strictly enforced.
There is a separate competition for these beers.
So anyone that enters anything dark, with an oak tinge and smelling of whiskey better watch out?
I was thinking this would be tricky to spot without a Mass Spectrometer, but then remembered we had Wills palate, be afraid...very afraid :o
It would need to come with a certificate of origin.
Rossa has been pretty clear on this one if there is any doubt it will be disqualified.
Keep one for the LC meet in February. There'll be a few Lb barrel bottles there to compare.
Update on logistics -
Don't use the competition system to enter barrel beers and contact John to say where they will be dropped. A simple label will do to identify them.
Lovely.
