Title: When is a Dunkelweizen at its best ?
Post by: Beerbuddha on February 02, 2014, 01:20:38 PM
My first dunkel is carbonated after a disaster first decoction mash but my question is this....I have read that heffa's should be consumed young and i wanted to know what this means ?

Does it loose taste after certain time unlike an ale that gets better with time ! Any information would be great around the subject.

Regards B.B.

When fresh the yeast is still naturally in suspension and they don't need rousing. So they can be drunk from around two weeks. As they get older they settle and need to be shaken.
