Hi there
Hoping somebody might suggest a tip about how to get an fridge freezer working in a combination fridge. I currently have two such fridges in my garage where the freezer is not freezing corectly. When the weather warms up the freezers kick in. Any hints to get the freezer working properly continuously would be appreciated (other than moving them in doors out of the shed).

Its a common problem with FF's in cold environments.
In most (that I have seen) FFs there is only one compressor circuit and one set point on the 'stat.
So your set point is say 8C, Ambient is 12 C so every now and again compressor kicks in and cools fridge down. In so doing it takes the freezer compartment down to say -20C.
Now put that same system in a cold shed: Setpoint 8C, shed at 6C, No reason for compressor to kick in so freezer compartment warms up.
Only solution is to set the setpoint to below ambient. This may not be possible so then you have to over-ride the stat with our old friend the STC-1000
You will have a very cold fridge ( I know when I did this I froze a few things that shouldn't have been frozen)
HTH :)
Hi Will
Does overriding the stat involve having to physically disonnect the thermostat?

I had the same issue. Skip it.

Yes, If you want to control the fridge with a STC-1000 then a bit of re-wiring is needed. This has been covered in various threads!
HOWEVER, If you are not happy then get in touch with someone who is happy to rewire the stat!
Have an old fridge coming up from Kerry that is 3/4 fridge 1/4 freezer. The freezer is working but the fridge poor. Is it worth the effort or do I bin it :-\
Has it got 1 or 2 compressors?
If one and the freezer is getting cold then probablly OK!
If 2 then maybe not!
