small box, fat bottles, padding.
bottles were kept from every brew for throughout the whole year and sampled over the past few weeks to bring it down to just a few decent ones.

We managed to finish at 2 and took less than half the time v's last year.

Without the volunteer effort it just wouldn't happen.

No problem with category winners they were all awarded medals today.
Posting all scores will compromise and undermine the total result, a major part of which is yet to come from the cork element of the show :(

Just curious - were medals only awarded for category winners, or were they awarded for all beers scoring within a certain point range?

Each category of beers gets scored and the points are inputted.

The top scoring beers are promoted to the next round - the medal round (mini-bos).

Typically this is the top three beers (but if there are several tables putting forward 3 beers - there could be 12 beers in this round)

These beers are then re-evaluated (from scratch) and positioned in 1 / 2 / 3.

After a certain Champagne bottle was accepted in Dublin , the sky is the limit for "non-standard easily identifiable bottles or in this case kegs" to sneak into the comp!

I believe its a serious attempt to get the judges absolutely bladdered!

No, definitely not me. I only had 1 of the 12 bottle crates, and that wasn't a competition one. I seem to remember there being 3 missing when we collected them all together, but thought that they were upstairs for the BOS and barrel category, so maybe they didn't make it back down from there?

Nhc will be charged but don't worry there is a curse on the three that were nicked to convert beer to vinegar :)

I'm really impressed by the standard of judging. They were able to accurately point out the flaws in my process.
Thanks to everyone involved for organising the competition to such a high standard.

I also got good tips how to improve my beer. I am very happy that I participated and big thanks for the people who made competition possible.
