has anyone here ever brewed anything close to brewdogs punbk ipa ?
if so any chance of the recipie ?
found this (http://cellardweller.net/index.php/kunena/india-pale-ale/148-brewdog-punk-ipa-clone-all-grain)- what u think ?
It'll definitely get you fairly close. White Labs WLP007 will give the right kind of dry finish and the Amarillo will pair nicely with the sharpness of the Ahatnum hops.
I think the key to this beer is the freshness of the ingredients. Brew Dog are notorious for inconsistent batches. When it's bad it's dull and lifeless. When it's fresh (especially out of the can I find) it's absolutely delicious.
According to their website (http://www.brewdog.com/product/punk-ipa) there's Simcoe and Nelson Sauvin in there also.
If I was attempting a clone, I wouldn't do it without some amount of these two hops late in the boil and maybe also dry. Simcoe for the pine, Nelson Sauvin for some of that New Zealand tropical-ness (passion fruit/pineapple etc).
Amarillo I find is more citrus/orange-y
I just bought a load of simcoe from HBC. Excited to try it out at the weekend.
