See a local Co-Op brewery have started putting out their product! Based in Down somewhere.
Maybe worth making contact and seeing about a tour/guest brew type deal?
Or even seeing what the price of a buy-in is :P
they're a workers co-op, so you cany buy in
you'll just have to wait for Boundary Brewing later this yr...
Aye I'm going down to ether and echo tonight to their launch. Should get a good interview out of them and find out a bit more.
I'll let you know. We'll be doing some sampling, too, but apparently their stuff is in the Vineyard. Although I didn't see it when I was last in...

That's the old Deer's Head, right? Was in there a few weeks ago. Strange wee place but not bad. The decor puts you in mind of a really fancy bathroom.
Can't wait to hear the scoop, Iain.

Bazza you old dog!
Yeah it's run by the same people who do Love & Death, so it'll probably not be my cup of tea as a venue. I'd take a ropey old man's bar over a trendy club with uncomfortable seats any day. But am looking forward to the sampling. Driving home and getting the bus down to it so I can taste their IPA.
Here sorry about missing the last meeting, Baz. Tams and I had an expensive trip to the West Country organised and I knew I couldn't trust myself to go and not drink. We went to Rick Stein and Mark Hix's places - a wee foodie trip. Had some good beers.

Haha! Don't get me wrong; there were plenty of comfortable seats there but, with all the Victorian-style tiled walls you're half expecting to see the most comfortable seat in the house located in the corner somewhere.
It's certainly a step up from the Deer's Head. Last time I was in there we walked in one door and straight out the other. The dense vineger/bleach combination cloud hit us like like mustard gas.

Nice one. Lucky git is all I say. We almost booked Cornwall for a 3rd year in a row for holidays but managed to resist in the end. Looking at Cork/Waterford currently.

Cork's amazing. It's the Cornwall of Ireland!
Here Bazza, what do you think about the March meet? Noone's responding to my post...
Well I was at the launch last night and I can safely say it's the best NI beer I've ever had. They've a Golden Pale Ale, which is amazingly hoppy. Great colour, and nice balance with biscuity malt and tropical hop notes.
Then there's a strong IPA, which is very aromatic and has a great strong malty kick.
Then the Indian Porter, which tastes a bit like a hoppy oyster stout. Lovely espresso and chocolate notes off-set by orange rind and floral hops.
I'd advise you to buy them all and try 'em
:P
Sounds good, man. You say they're supposed to be in the Vineyard? Might pay a visit this weekend.

Would have to agree with Iain. Got all three at The Vinyard a couple of weeks ago and was impressed. Would definitely buy again.
Yup, they're bloody marvellous. It's raised the bar I reckon. Whitewater is looking more ordinary with each passing month...

Bought some at the weekend and took them up to a wee bothy near Gortin in Counny Tyrowan - your neck of the woods, Baz meister. Had the porter by our wee turf fire with a plate of spag bol and some Scrabble. Great weekend, great beers.

Good wee clip! Have to get some of these next time I'm down in the big smoke.
Had the Porter on friday night but I made the mistake of drinking it first. The best compliment I can give it is It made the rest of my fare taste pretty ordinary (apart from the tiny rebel smoked oat stout which was pretty damn good too).

Ah like starting the night with a lambic - may as well give up as nothing tastes the same!
Great bit of pr for Bernard who was kind enough to be one of our judges in Dublin
