Title: Did my bottle explode or has someone knocked it over?
Post by: CARA on March 26, 2013, 01:03:44 PM
Bottled on Thursday past and noticed that one of the swing top bottles has broken. It was still stood up in place with over 2/3rds the beer left in it. Is this due to over carbonation or a dodgy bottle with temperature swings whilst sitting on the tiled kitchen floor, or has one of my housemates dropped something on it?
This was a 500ml bottle, I've opened a 330ml swing top and it is a little over carbonated but not as bad as previous batches.

Dont believe it would have carbed that fast unless it was in the hotpress
What was the pattern or the glass, just beside it or all over the place?
Are they where somebody might kick them over?

No it was pretty much right at the back under numerous shelves. There are gaps between the slats were maybe something could have fallen through and on to it.
There were shards in the immediate area but the majority of the top of the bottle is complete.

I had a bottle bomb before and the bottle was much more damaged than that
