Its where Emma and Cathal OD did their ginger porter brew after they won the summer session competition. I think Bru recently got into SuperValu. Is that where you got it?
Yes SV on the quay Dungarvan, hoping its ok as i am partial to a nice stout/porter. ;D
They're doing the Kenmare stuff too I think.

Had the Kenmare Irish pale ale last week in the bottle, not overly impressed tbh, nothing wrong per se, just a bit meh IMHO. ;D
Bru Dubh is grand - a bit bland in my opinion (could be the nitro bottle)
Bru Rí, their West Coast IPA is great though - had it on cask at the Fran Well - tasty stuff
And they do have the technical consultancy services of a certain NCB brewer on tap as it were!!

Don't think they're doing the Kenmare beers, I bought a bottle of the Pale Ale recently and the label said it was brewed in Cork by the Little Island Brewing Company. I work on the Island and had no idea someone had set up a brewery there, nor did any of the locals so it must be fairly recent, no idea who's behind it. The Pale Ale was ok, but had some off flavours about it that put me off trying another.
That's interesting that you say that. I read it was bru doing it on a blog.
Here?

+1 on the off flavour, something there i could not quite put my finger on tbh but just made me think, hmmm not as good as i hoped for.In the interest of fairness though i will be getting another bottle for qualitative analysis purposes ;D
True, I should do the same myself just to figure out what that off-flavour is, Im not very good at picking them out.
Was stewarding at the comp for one of the professional brewers and she said that she actually likes coming across unusual off-flavours when judging so she can identify it and then figure out what caused it. I thought that was a great way to look at things so I guess I should start doing a bit of research!
One man's off-flavour is another man's "fermentation character".
Well i am of the opinion that one man's off flavour is another's perfect pint, therefore i try not to judge a beer on flavour from just one sampling alone, that said there are exceptions. The Kenmare pale ale was not bad at all just had that curious background note i can't quite place is all, might be the hops ? ;D
Edit: dammit mr happy beat me to it :P
I have to agree ( with both of you). The flavour wasn't unpleasant, just seemed unusual to me for a Pale Ale. Seeing as they stock it in my local garage I may have to go and buy a few for science and see if I get used to it.
It could still be an off-flavour though. ;D
Like the picture - brings back fond memories of drinking rebadged Blarney Blonde in Kenmare - but guess I'll have to try the beer to see what's happening on the flavour front.
