Ah, potentially a quick one, but 3/8" or 5/16" for a draft keg setup. The taps I have are 5/16", and all the other stuff is on it's way from Ebayshire, so don't know which it is yet (sankey connector, CO2 valves and all that carry on). Distance from keg to tap shouldn't be too far neither, so what do people recommend or prefer? Any pitfalls? One for gas and anther for beer?
Can I change the tap connection if necessary? They're stainless bodies with a brass john guest fitting screwed in (and I wouldn't know where to begin removing it!).
I'm all ears eyes.
12mm and blue works every time.
On the sauce again Tom?
Aagh! Imperial AND metric?! So that's blue for gas or beer?
Oh, beer?
Hey Tom, gas line size is unimportant. Regards beer line you can cut the line right back to the tap leaving a few inches and attach John guest 5/16 to 3/8 connector and then from this to your tap. This method forces the beer through a smaller bore just before your pint and improves head foaminess.
Hi Tom
As Cara says!
If you look at the online shops nearly all the JG fittings are 3/8". One of our online shops sell the 5/16" to 3/8" reducing elbow.
So stick with 3/8" and just get the elbow.
Lunch break!
Pm your address Tom and I'll post you up a few JGs
That all, sounds grand, I especially like the last minute head-forming restriction (and that I don't have to re-plumb some taps). Thank you all. Cheers Dec, I'll send you my address now.
