Venue: Tog, Chancery Lane, Dublin 8 (www.tog.ie)
Cost: Free (Donations will be accepted, by tog or the capital brewers)
Format:
Brewing - All Grain, possibly Extract. (I'm brewing the SD Barrel English Barleywine assuming the ingredients arrive)
Beers - I'll be bringing a few of mine, hopefully others can bring theirs
Talks - Has anyone got a talk/workshop that they would like to do for the event?
Kick off a bit earlier than usual (logistical reasons) at 9:00, see some of you there!

Wohoo! Back on track :)
But unfortunately working on Sunday :(
Good luck though!
Yup! Now that the clocks have gone back we might as well get this back on track. :)
Does tog have wifi that would allow me stream the f1 at 3pm?

What about streaming the brewing instead for those of us who can't make it in person.
Shanna
I'll take a few videos and stick them on youtube.
Come to think of it, a 9am start means I could probably make it home on time for the race.
I might pop in on my way to work - I have hops here for Beerfly and Shanna from Tube.
Yeah they have wifi, you could put the race on the projector if you bring a laptop...

If you are seeing him again he has hops for me too.. it's the only thing keeping me from doing a beer that day
working sunday, can drop in after work but have a feeling everything could be packed up by then
Hope we can get a few in.

jazus lads 9am >:(... why dont yis just do the night shift :)
was thinking of gettin up for this one till I saw the start time...not practical for us.
wat time ye expect to be there till?
Sharon is dropping me off on her way to college that morning so that I don't have to get a taxi. It usually finishes up around 3 or 4.
Some of my ingredients for this didn't arrive as expected today, hops/yeast being the important ones.. I'm checking with the Mottly Brew to see if they have them. Bloody DPD! >:(
I'll have some spare simcoe and brambling x.. could really use a wee bit of Amarillo/cascade/centennial if anyone has some??

Have some cascade, how much do you need? Could sort you out by doing the stuff of to Shiny at the same time if he wants (see the next post for details).

What do you need I might be able to help? I have 1 spare Nottingham yeast sachet and some mauribrew yeast that you could use. I also have loads of magnum and about 80 grams each of ekg and fuggles. Some of The hops are 2012 but they have been stored in the freezer & are vacuum packed. While they may have lost some of their potency they will do in a pinch.
I should be able to drop them off to you tonight if you want them?
Shanna
PS: Every sympathy re DPD they keep delivering my orders to a park West to a building with the same name as my office in the city centre.
I was just going to hold off brewing the barrel brew until next Sunday as the lads in Glasnevin don't have the ingredients. It also means I'm not stuck with ingredients that I don't want too. I will just brew a different recipe in TOG this weekend.
ok your call.

Whatever you can spare.. like between 15 - 25g
Ferg I can definitely spare 25 grams. Where are you based? Won't be meeting shiny tonight as he does not need the hops etc.
Shanna
I'm in stoneybatter, but I won't be around this evening.. are you not gonna be at tog on sunday?

No but will be bringing my son swimming on Sunday morning around 10:30 in trinity. I could swing around there before hand. Will you be there around 10am? Was it you had hops for me from tube?

Declan, I accidentally left them with Dunkel when I was over at his house yesterday.
Read back through the posts in the thread and saw that Dunkel might drop them off, will follow up with him. Fergus will drop the cascade off if I am going to the pool.
Shanna
cool, no worries if you can't drop them in.
Do you still need Amarillo?
It would be nice, but not necessary! I'm looking to repeat this recipe but I was just gonna use different hops...http://www.nationalhomebrewclub.com/forum/index.php/topic,5344.msg69880.html#msg69880
I've been keen to get to one of these, it'll be my first club brewday. I'll bring a few of my beers too

Have about 60g of Amarillo too, I'll bring it along and use what you need. Small bit of cascade left too, I'll bring it just in case - not sure if it's enough but if you're stuck on the day might come in handy.
Just on the beer front - just two bottles for tasting (as it would for the tasting meetups) or more?
I would say bring the two bottles, as we aren't in a pub people tend to go back for more samples as the day goes on.
I'm bringing 2kg of crushed lager malt in excess if anyone wants it, otherwise its going in the bin as I wouldn't be using lager malt again for ages.
If the cascade isn't used I will throw it in at 0 min for my brew if its going. :)
Ferg I have a conical, Special B, Light and dark candi sugar for you, was there anything else ?

Stir bar?
I don't have any left. :(
no hassle! thanks!
Bring a couple of black bags for your spent grain so we don't end up using up all that's left in TOG.
I've weighed out all the hops, water addions and crushed the grains to reduce the amount of stuff I need to bring with me in the morning.
if you have not finished up before i finish i can help "librate" the lager malt
I had an accident with the bag of lager malt.... It was sliced open by the sharp side of a bucket and is now on the carpet.... >:(
I also have around 4kg of crushed wheat that I wouldn't be using soon enough either, I can bring that if someone wants to use it for the summer beer comp.
Given that I cant brew the barleywine, I'm brewing my entry for the small beer (http://www.nationalhomebrewclub.com/forum/index.php/topic,5862.0.html) competition instead. I'm meeting Jules this evening to get the keys to open up in the morning.
Should really be doing that too but havn't had the time to plan a recipe!
Ferg
Should be around to Tog in the morning around 10 ish. Will have the cascade for you and will leave a few bottles for you and the others to sample.
Shanna
Right, so I'm running late! Just leaving now, will be there in time for the boil! :P

Strolled into the bull and castle after and cause they are closing the beerhall for renovations most bottles were off licence prices. If only I did not have a bucket of malt to take home (thanks shiny) I'd still be there
Ahh feck I left my oxi and a bit of hose from my chiller in tog last week!

Oxi could be in the kitchen.
