Post by: ferg on April 03, 2014, 03:17:04 PM
these are on sale at the mo... 39.95. http://www.mybeerandwine.ie/picnic-cooler-litre-p-345.html (http://www.mybeerandwine.ie/picnic-cooler-litre-p-345.html) gonna pick one up...

Does anyone know the size of the hole at the bottom is on these? what taps are recommended for mash tun in terms of connecting to the manifold? I'm gonna hit my local plumbing supplier for the manifold, is the tap diameter of the size dependent on the diameter of the copper manifold used??

Myself & Kevco5 have pics of our picnic cooler mash tuns in this thread:

You could get a stainless steel weldless tap kit with an extra long threaded nipple to make it through the cooler wall. Then a coupler & a nipple. Some braided hose & jubilee clips to connect on to the manifold.

Or go to a plumb shop. Pretty sure they could fit a tap for you pretty cheap & quick.
